Brand new MOT; I bought this car because I like the look of the Z3 and the power of the 2.8 is about the same as an early Porsche Boxster but without the engine vulnerability and costs. I bought it in August 2021 and put it into Armit Autos in Broxburn and asked them to do everything needed. New shock absorbers, brakes pads discs some bushes, lower suspension arms , a new vanos oil pipe, repairing a power steering leak, wheel refurbishment, tyres, front and rear strut braces fitted, and because I am OCD, some preventative welding against the potential for boot floor/rear subframe failure that you will see on the internet with 2.8 and 3,2 engines in this body.
The car had recently had a new rear window in the hood, and I've had the hood cleaned reconditioned, re-coloured and waterproofed. Clouding front headlight lenses have been fixed, faulty micro-switch on the hood lowering mechanism replaced. Lots of more minor fixing and fettling. The wheels have been refurbished in a metallic gun metal grey. A new radiator was fitted in June 2023.
Total spend has been just under £5000 in the last 2 years.( receipts available)
Having spent this, I realised I was not actually adding any value to its resale, and decided against spending another £4-£6k on a total body and paintwork refurbishment for now, as the body is sound, though not concourse
Only used in the summer on dry days ( ..of which there have been plenty! Scottish roads with the top down in summer?.. Perfect! ) and garaged with a de-humidifier over the winter.
Quick sale needed due to purchasing the TVR I have always promised myself which suddenly became available, and I only have a one car garage.
