There are a number of schools in the local area for children of all ages. Barton primary school is just a short walk away offering education for children aged 3-11 years. For school leavers, the Isle of Wight college has been awarded Outstanding status by Ofsted and offers a wide range of courses and apprenticeships.
Shopping
There is an impressive range of small family run retailers, stylish boutiques and antique shops, alongside familiar big name stores and supermarkets in Newport. Regular Farmer's Markets also tempt visitors with an array of goods. Cowes, just a short drive away is home to both high street and independent shops.
Transport
Only minutes away from the mainland and just a few hours from London, the Isle of Wight is linked to the mainland ports of Lymington, Southampton and Portsmouth by vehicle ferries, high speed passenger catamarans and hovercraft. It is served by three main operators: Hovertravel, Red Funnel and Wightlink.
Health
With Newport being the principle town on the Isle of Wight there are no shortage of doctors surgeries and dentists to choose from. Medina Healthcare is open from 8am-6.30pm and offers early morning and late night opening once a week. The Beacon centre at St Mary's Hospital offers a 7 day walk in service.

Directions
Newport has excellent transport links to the whole of the Island and routes to the mainland can be found at East and West Cowes which can both be reached by car in under 15 minutes for quick links to Southampton.
Southern Vectis run regular bus routes from Newport to East and West Cowes Ryde, Ventnor, Shanklin, Yarmouth and more.
