HGV Technician opportunity

My client, a well-established commercial vehicle contract hire company is actively seeing to employ 2 additional experienced (qualified or time served) HGV Technicians for their depot in the Barnstaple area due to expansion and increased workloads. You will be responsible for working on multi fleets of commercial vehicles predominately DAF, Volvo, Ford and Mercedes (anything from vans to articulated trucks).

Able to offer a variety of shift patterns such as Monday-Friday days, Monday-Thursday days or Tuesday-Friday days and will look at both HGV or Van Technicians. Saturday mornings (7am-12pm) are covered on a rota basis (currently 1 in 3) along with being on call

HGV Technician duties

Working in a well-equipped workshop, the successful HGV Technician will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle service, maintenance, repair, diagnostics and pre MOT prep

Repairs and inspections on vans and HGVs
Duties range from correction of running defects to full vehicle overhauls, diagnostics and everything in between.
You will also be required to undertake inspections and pre-MOT checks and undertake any repairs that are required.
HGV Technician qualifications / experience required

In order to qualify for the role, the successful HGV Technician will ideally have industry recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds) or be time served
You should have experience as an HGV or Van Technician and be familiar with modern commercial vehicles.
IRTEC trained would be beneficial but not essential
