Hamilton Woods Associates are currently working on behalf of a public sector client to recruit for a Tree Surgeon, initially on a temporary basis. There is scope for the role to become permanent. The working hours will be 37 pw, 7:30-3:30 Monday to Friday.
A work van is provided but is to be left at site outside of working hours.
Responsibilities of the Tree Surgeon includes:
Ensuring the upkeep of shrubs and trees across open spaces and parks
Utilising specialist plant and equipment such as chippers, chainsaws and grinders
Carrying out physical activities such as lifting, tree climbing, carrying and walking
Completing health and safety checks on tools and equipment
Removing and disposing of waste and graffiti
Requirements of the Tree Surgeon include:
Relevant qualification eg City and Guilds Award in Tree Climbing and Rescue / City and Guilds Groundsman / City and Guilds Maintenance and Cross Cutting
Driving License (essential)
Knowledge of safety harness and inspection (eg LOLER course)
Experience working with a tree team (essential)
Experience of arial rescue (desirable)
Experience utilising chippers, grinders and chainsaws (essential)
