MPI have a requirement for a Vehicle and Support Equipment Electrician to work at Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.

Working Regime:
This is a full time role working Mon-Friday 37 hours per week.
Mon- Thu 8-hour day shifts. Fri - 5-hour shift -lunch time finish.
Occasional standby week is completed from home to cover emergency call in out of normal working hours.
Standby week out of hours commitment attracts additional pay.

This standby week includes a weekend commitment to complete Runway Arrestor Gear Daily Checks. 07:30 -08:30 Sat and Sun.
Standby weeks (including Sat & Sun Runway Arrestor Gear Daily Checks) are an occasional commitment shared between the team.
This commitment attracts additional pay. Overtime as required. On the Job Training will be provided.
At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Our Client has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Our Client proudly supports the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet, you will contribute enormously to the vital work carried out here. Youll also be part of the wider team, with 5,800 service personnel, 1,200 contractors and 300 civil servants on site.
We are recruiting for two levels of Technicians Dependent on skills and experience you could be employed as a technician or Senior Technician which had additional supervisory responsibilities.
The Vehicle and Airfield Support Equipment Electricians are responsible for:
Maintenance and rectification of the RAF Brize Norton aircraft refuelling vehicles, fuel transfer vehicles, cargo lifting platforms and associated equipment.
Maintenance and rectification of all non-powered Airfield Support Equipment including but not limited to; Aircraft Towing arms, cargo pallet dollies (trailers), aircraft jacks, Working at Height Personal Protective Equipment, Lifting Equipment and slings, access staging, oxygen gaseous equipment nitrogen trolleys and aviation support equipment such as aircraft tyre bead breakers.
Runway Arrestor Gear Daily Checks and Maintenance (Training will be provided)

Applicants must be an experienced Vehicle Electrician or have 18th Edition.
What you need to do the job:
Previous experience in the Vehicle Maintenance or Mechanical Equipment Arena or equivalent. (Transferable skills from HGV, Vehicle, Plant Fitter, Aviation maintenance arena are all appropriate).
Ability to effectively and safely complete maintenance and rectification tasks.
Functional IT skills to use Electronic Technical Manuals and to update Maintenance Recording systems.
Be an excellent team player with a can-do safely approach to work.
Must have high standards of oral and written communication skills.
Desirable skills and experience:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle / Technical Maintenance arena.
