On the Surface: This is a beautiful example of a 1966 Ford Anglia Super 1200. Finished in White with a Navy Blue roof over the super spec black leather interior. This Anglia is still standing in fantastic condition helped by the care it has recieved over the years.
Maintenance: This Anglia Super has been well maintained throughout its existence, evident from the comprehensive history file that accompanies it. A restoration was undertaken in 2002 with bodywork and mechanicals both receiving attention, evidence of this can be found in the history file (or see link below). Also in the file a detailed log of servicing and maintenance from 1978 to 1992 can be found in one of the owner's handbooks. The history file also contains invoices totaling approximately £1,100 from the current ownership, along with an assortment of tax discs and a treasure trove of images capturing its restoration journey.
History: With just five owners over nearly 60 years, this Anglia Super has been well kept and cared for throughout it's existence. The current vendors, a husband and wife duo from Kingsbridge, Devon, have owned the vehicle for slightly over two years. Their sentimental attachment to this model dates back to its initial release, influenced by the husband's affiliation with Ford Motor Company during that era. The car has been the centre of numerous memories specifically ones where the car would attract widespread attention wherever the vendors ventured.
The history file holds records from varying points of the cars 60 year lifespan, including workshop manuals, spares catalogues, owner's handbooks and invoices totalling approximately £1,100 from the current ownership, along with an assortment of tax discs.
The Model: The Ford Anglia Super, designated as the 123E model as opposed to the original, more standardised 105E. The Super was equipped with a larger 1198cc engine and a host of refinements, including enhanced trim levels. The Super variant can be distinguished by twin chrome side strips, a contrasting colored roof and side flash and a more lavish interior.
The 1198cc engine in the Anglia Super is driven through a manual gearbox thats has synchromesh on the first gear. Due to this combination it is capable of doing top speeds of around 80 MPH making it more than capable for use on modern roads among modern traffic.
Sale Insight: Due to their age, The Vendor's have now decided to sell this Anglia which they have looked after greatly. This Anglia Super has been well cared for not only in this ownership, but the ones before as well. It holds practical usability, making it a sought-after classic for enthusiasts and collectors alike. Its rich history and great condition certainly make it an enticing option.
