My client is a leading EMS provider to the electronics Industry. They are currently in need of a Quality Engineer based in Cambridge.
The right candidate will be an experienced Quality Engineer from a manufacturing environment, competent using different software tools, equipment and metrics ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained, and identify improvement opportunities. The right candidate would ideally have knowledge of IPC quality standards, and analytical skills together with the ability to organise, control and prioritise your workload. Communication at all levels with other departments is essential as is active participation in customer quality meetings.
Job Purpose
* Manage and facilitate the company Quality Assurance Management Systems and Processes.
* Manage and facilitate the Compliance, Certifications and support systems in the company.
* Key interface between CSL and Quality relationships (customers, ISO consultants, UL etc)
* Manage internal corrective / preventive investigations, report to Management Team.
* Provide quality performance data, trends, defect and improvement opportunities.
* Lead Production, Engineering and Test teams on root cause investigations.
* Support technical investigations related to improving quality / performance improvements, including technology and process developments.
* Provide monthly quality metrics to the Management Team.
* Willingness to undertake other work as assigned when requested.
Key Job Accountabilities
* Ensure Quality Management System and reporting is maintained, fit for purpose and pertinent.
* Producing quality results, reports, trends, targets and issues are reported.
* Ensure adherence to company ESD, Health & Safety, and material handling procedures.
* Timely, accurate and detailed reporting in clear concise and objective manner.
Essentials:
* Management of QMS and quality approvals in a manufacturing company.
* Experience of working as QE in an ISO90012015 accredited company.
* Internal reporting of Quality metrics, trends and issues.
* Using quality investigation, corrective action / improvement tools, 8D, 5Y, Root Cause etc
Preferable:
* Certification of IPC-610 and J-Std.
* Experience of SMT PCB assembly, light mechanical assembly / test processes.
* Experience of working in an ESD area.
* Experience of working in an ESD area.
The salary for this role is £28k - £32k.
