Company Description: Our client is a leading construction and engineering company based in Somerset, renowned for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors. Position: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Weston-super-Mere

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum

Role and Responsibilities: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of projects involving steel structures. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

1. Accurate and efficient cost estimating for steel-related projects.

2. Conducting in-depth cost analysis and preparing detailed cost reports.

3. Collaborating with the project team to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.

4. Procuring materials and subcontractors for steel works, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to project timelines.

5. Managing contracts and variations, while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.

6. Conducting regular site visits and assessments to monitor project progress and assess financial implications.

7. Assisting in the preparation of project budgets and forecasts.

8. Providing valuable expertise during tendering processes and contract negotiations.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on steel-related projects.

2. Strong knowledge of steel materials, specifications, and industry standards.

3. Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.

4. Proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.

5. Sound understanding of construction contracts and relevant legal regulations.

6. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling seamless collaboration with project teams, clients, and suppliers.

7. Ideally, a relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
