Maternity cover – up to 12 months
Part-time 3 or 4 days a week considered
Hybrid – 1 day London office based
£34,000 - £38,000 (will be pro-rata fro reduced hours)
We are currently recruiting for an international welfare organisaiton for a Grants and Impact Officer to cover a maternity cover that will be around 12 months.
The Grants and Impact Officer will be responsible for the management of the grants programme, and to develop and lead on the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) activities of the charity.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Manage the Portfolio of Grants awarded by the charity, providing advice and assistance on completing applications and reporting, with a focus on MEAL activities.
Prepare grant paperwork and process new applications for funding
Prepare Memorandums of Understanding (“MoU”) for each grant and submit for signature
Co-ordinate the Grants and Programme Committee, summarising each application for the Members and providing analysis of the request and the impact a grant will have.
Work with in community teams and Regions to ensure successful completion of MEAL requirements, following best practice in impact reporting.
Working with the relevant Regional Director, provide appropriate training in monitoring and evaluation.
Collate, analyse, and interpret all MEAL data and work with the Director to prepare an annual
Impact Report, facilitating the process, collating, and editing information.
Provide ad hoc impact reports to aid fundraising appeals such as applications to Trusts and
Foundations.
Work with the Communications to promote the newsletter publication and increase readership.
Skills and experience required:
Strong and proven experience administering a grants programme, preferably within the charitable sector.
A comprehensive understanding of MEAL techniques and an ability to work with stakeholders to build MEAL frameworks.
Experience of working on a series of projects and programmes simultaneously, often reacting quickly to ad hoc requests whilst maintaining a structured programme calendar.
Excellent command of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
Working knowledge and understanding of financial information such as budgets and forecasts, preparing reports accordingly
Demonstrates initiative, judgement, and ability to work under limited supervision.
Demonstrates ability to quickly build trusted relationships, both internally and externally.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability respond professionally to stakeholders at all levels
Ability to express ideas clearly and constructively influence where required.
