Our client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. Their vets share the duties of consulting, operating, and imaging, although they could accommodate someone in a purely consulting role.

About the Role:

Their Full-Time vets work 4 weekdays per week. Start and finish times vary from 8.30am to 8pm. Our out of hours work is covered by Vets-Now. Their vets also consult on a Saturday morning, either at our Cassiobury or Leavesden site, currently 2:5 Saturday mornings for our Full-Time colleagues, this works out at an average of 40 hours per week. They are happy to consider Part-Time candidates and open to discussing hours.

About the Practice:

They are a busy, Small Animal Practice based in Watford, Hertfordshire, within easy reach of transport links to London as well as beautiful surrounding countryside. They have been established in the Watford area in one form or another for over 100 years. They do also have an Equine department, but this is separately staffed.

The practice is fully equipped, including Endoscopy and Laparoscopy, ultrasound, digital x-ray, and multi-modal monitors. They are currently in the process of expanding our Exotic care.

They have a large and diverse team, with a variety of special interests and certificates, including imaging, surgical, medical, ophthalmology and exotics. They are keen to support their colleagues in their areas of interest and further study.

Their team is made up of 7 FTE vets and 7 RVN's, along with a great team of student nurses, VCA's and skilled support staff. Many of their current RVN's trained there as students. They also have a small satellite consulting only surgery in Leavesden, which their vets cover on a rota basis, which has its own team of nursing and support staff.

Several of their staff have a keen interest in animal welfare, behaviour, and re-homing. They have an onsite behaviourist and run de-sensitisation clinics within their daily nurse clinics.
