Job Description
Core Purpose
To work with specified groups of students and facilitate targeted provision and intervention for students to support their academic progress and wellbeing.
To ensure that all support provided underpins raising standards by identifying barriers to learning for specified groups of students.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Work closely with identified groups of students on a one-on-one or small group basis to provide academic and pastoral support.
Implement targeted interventions to address individual pastoral or academic needs in conjunction with class teachers.
Collaborate with the SENDCo and liaise with the teachers to develop customised learning plans for students requiring additional support.
Ensure that relevant activities and resources are provided and developed to create effective lessons supporting students well-being.
Deliver specific interventions and review associated plans that support student engagement and progress in collaboration with parents.
Assist in the well-being needs of students, supporting and facilitating any adjustments and liaising with other stakeholders as required.
Work closely with teachers in sharing the progress of students receiving targeted provisions and adjust strategies as needed with teachers.
Keep detailed records of interventions, student progress, and outcomes and share these with the relevant stakeholders.
Prepare reports as requested by leaders, to assess the impact of interventions and make recommendations for adjustments.
Stay updated with the latest educational research, interventions, and strategies to enhance support services.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to improve skills related to student support and interventions.
Present a positive personal image, contributing to a welcoming school environment which supports equal opportunities for all.
Perform, in accordance with any directions, which may reasonably be given to you by your Line Manager or Headteacher from time to time, such duties as may reasonably be assigned.
