Job Title: Finance Controller
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 dependent on experience
Tate is proud to partner with a local client known for its positive impact and vision. We are currently seeking a dedicated Finance Controller to join their team in Hemel Hempstead. This role plays a crucial part in the success of the business, overseeing various finance functions and contributing to the timely production of financial reports, efficient cash collection, and invoice management.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a small finance team, including workload allocation and recruitment during busy periods
Timely generation and submission of sales invoices
Handling customer statements, reminder letters, and following up on overdue accounts
Liaising closely with sales and operations teams to support with overdue invoices and payments
Supervising the process of receipting purchase invoices into the system and ensuring accurate recording and coding
Coordinating weekly supplier payment runs and managing subcontractors' CIS statuses
Ensuring accurate setup of supplier application forms and conducting credit checks on new customers
Preparation and submission of VAT returns
Assisting in the preparation of quarterly financial forecasts and reports, reporting any variances
Monthly issuance of Work In Progress statements to the Finance Director
Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
Ensuring compliance with local and national government reporting requirements and tax filings
Proper recording, filing, and reporting of all financial transactionsKey Skills and Qualifications Required:
Essential experience with Xero; familiarity with other accounting software is advantageous
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
Basic accounts or financial training
Previous experience and knowledge as a finance controllerTo apply for this role, you should demonstrate:
