Cable Repair Technician

£27.5K + Overtime + Excellent benefits

We have an Excellent opportunity for a Cables Repairs Technician to join a world leader in the supply of equipment and facilities to the service industry. The Cables Repairs Technician will be responsible carrying out and maintaining a consistent throughput of cable repairs on both power and data cables.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Cable Repairs Technician:

* To identify and safely fault find issues on a range of electrical and data cables including single and three phase cabling, DMX and Ethercon.

* Undertaking electrical and mechanical repairs on a variety of cabling in a safe and professional manner.

* Termination of cut down cables to reinstate into rental stock.

* Wiring, soldering, cable stripping, assembly and termination of a range of connections both for power cables and data cables.

* Creating Wiring Looms

* To research parts and equipment required to effect repairs on cabling you have assessed.

* Communicating with the Technical Manager regarding any faults that cannot be resolved in-house.

* Preparing equipment to be sent to external suppliers for repair

* Broad testing of completed repairs (including PAT) before managing the return to stock.

* Liaising with the Technical Manager about retiring stock which is beyond economical repair.

* Work with the Repairs Inventory Technician to ensure stock repair supplies are maintained at appropriate levels.

* Written documentation of measures taken to complete repairs and providing advice to repairs administrator if pricing is not accurate in relation to work undertaken.

Experience/Skills required

* Prior cable/electrical repairs experience including 3 phase

* Must be IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.

* Must be able to confidently communicate with internal colleagues and external suppliers.

* Be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues.

* Self-motivated and organised with the ability to plan workload and keep track of multiple jobs.
