We are currently recruiting for a permanent Design Engineer for our engineering client in North Aberdeenshire. This will be an office based role.
The main purpose of the role:- will be carrying out all typical engineering department activities, supporting the development of new ideas and technologies to the Companys products and manufacturing processes, working within the Integrated Management System. They must be able to work with minimum guidance, using their own initiative and experience
The main duties will include but not be limited to :-
Performing detailed mechanical design and maintaining current/legacy design packages including generation of supporting documentation (change notes, drawings, parts lists, pump lists, Pump Manuals, FMEA, DFMEA, FEA, verification records and design plans)
Undertaking project investigations, compiling, and writing reports to present to senior management team
Liaising with all other areas of the business to ensure strong communication links and sharing of knowledge
Liaising with customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors regarding technical aspects
Providing engineering support to all aspects of the manufacturing process
Perform appropriate calculations relating to design of pumps
Updating pump drawings and components to CAD System as required
Working within the guidelines of our Quality Management System, defining new procedures as required
Supporting the creating, processing and rollout of ECN documentation, working closely with all areas of the business
Supporting the creating, processing and rollout of contract reviews documentation, including working with the suppliers to identify materials
Adding, amending, and structuring components and build lists on the company operating system
Liaising with customers and suppliers where necessary for design and material standards
Writing of technical reports
Identifying pumps or parts required from Customer references or drawings
Checking and approving technical documentation created by the Engineering team
Overseeing and supporting projects and prototypes through all areas of the business
Essential Qualifications:-
Qualified to Honours Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Required Skills & Experience :-
Minimum 3 years prior experience in an engineering manufacturing environment
Certification or proven experience in the use of CAD applications, preferably Solidworks
Proven track record in previous project assignments
Good working knowledge of pump design methods, pumping systems and operations
Experience of testing to applicable ISO requirements
Knowledge of CNC manufacturing techniques
Able to identify pump requirements to meet the customers needs
Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure
