Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a leading international media company in the recruitment of an Engineers Manager.
Working in partnership with the Operations department, the Engineers Manager has the following areas of responsibility;
* Management of in-house engineer and subcontractor paperwork
* Subcontractor and engineer quality control
* Maintaining records and safety standards for all engineer vehicles
* Maintain associated specialist engineer training to include but not limited to, PASMA, IPAF, SPA.
* Identify and implement training for installation and AV hardware.
* Ensure that engineers and subcontractors comply with the company Health & Safety policy and processes.
* Manage with either internal or external Health & Safety resource to ensure Health and Safety regulations affecting internal and external operation.
* Review company policies and procedures through external H&S consultants
Working in partnership with the Operations Teams the key areas of responsibility;
* Ensuring the company complies with all aspects of Health and Safety Regulation (We will use an external consultant to review company policies and procedures).
* Responsibility for maintaining the appropriate level of H&S training to all engineers and sub-contractors.
* Responsibility for building and retaining the services of network of subcontractors capable of meeting company national installation and maintenance needs. Required to assess the technical competence and quality standards of the company sub-contractor base.
* As a team player you will work as part of the wider Operations team to deliver the required level of management across your relevant areas of the business
* You will require excellent communication and negotiating skills when procuring contractor resource to ensure costs and margins are in line with budgets.
* Ensure that company vehicles are managed, maintained and records kept as required.
* Represent the company whilst out visiting engineers and contractors in clients premises, so good communication skills and presentation is a must.
* Manage engineer expenditure and working hours.
* Any other tasks required to be undertaken for the smooth running of the business.
Person Specification
* People Management experience
* Ability to create and maintain accurate records to ensure tracking of all compliance documentation.
* Previous experience of resource sourcing using sub-contractor networks.
* General Knowledge of Health & Safety
* First class communication skills
* Excellent Microsoft skills, including word and excel to be able to create documentation.
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Adaptability
* Good problem-solving skills.
* Commercial awareness and understanding of adhering to budgets.
* AV system knowledge and installation experience would be a distinct advantage.
