New MOT and fresh oil change. Just spent £450 having new front coil springs fitted and mot. These cars were meant to be the latest 'Mustang' when they debuted in the States back in the eighties, however the yank purists were not happy with it being a co-operation with Mazda so it was re-branded as 'Probe'.
V6 24v DOHC with a distinctive throaty roar!
The 2.5 V6 is the one to go for (it also comes in a 2l underpowered model) The engine and running gear are all the super reliable Mazda but the sleek lined exterior and interior are pure Ford Sport design with the pop up frog eye headlights.
A past owner paid £600 for the present private plate L44 FMC (Ford Motor Company) The alloys are in very good condition with good tyres all round.
There is some lacquer peel, one patch on the roof and the top only of the boot lid.
I will include spray paint and lacquer in sale. I bought this car with my heart last year with a view to doing the couple of little jobs that will bring this car up to mint, but now I feel that it is just a bit too low for me getting in and out at 74 years of age. So any younger bloods out there who want to take on this head turner now's your chance.
This is a great chance to own a rare and appreciating classic as there are only around 170 of these on the road in UK. There is a folder full of past mot's receipts and history of work done plus workshop and owners manuals. This car has been enjoyed as a daily driver and kept up to date with maintenance and servicing!
You will see other models advertised with low mileage at twice the price where they have been stuck in a garage for decades and not used; this may sound great but all the fuel, oil and lubricants will have deteriorated and most of the seals will be perished and dried out which will cost you a fortune to rectify so bear this in mind even if you don't buy mine.
If you have any interest then do yourself a favour and check these out on You tube, you will be impressed.
May swap for gold or silver bullion to same value!
Thanks for looking.
