Clear Line are a principal contractor specialising in the refurbishment, supply, installation and maintenance of building envelopes and facades.

We are looking at expanding our commercial team and have an opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us. Working alongside a relatively small team, you will be expected to monitor and administer the commercial aspects of projects, ensuring focus is maintained on the profitable delivery of contracts, maximising all financial opportunities, whilst ensuring risks are kept to a minimum.

Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Rawson Spring Way, S6 1PG, Sheffield

Job Type: Permanent, Monday to Friday 9-5

Salary: Up to 75k, we are open to negotiate remuneration package for the right candidate

The successful candidate will be expected to review, negotiate, and reach the point of sign-off by company directors for all new contracts. Similarly, you will play a key role in the procurement and placement of sub-contract orders with our supply chain.

A thorough understanding of a range of construction contracts (primarily amended JCT forms) is essential and the successful candidate will ideally have experience in reviewing indemnities, warranties, bonds, insurance provisions and the like.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Contract appraisal, negotiation, and agreement minimising risk to the company.

* Development and production of internal documents, reports, and briefings for senior management implementing monthly cost and value reports for each project, as well as cost to completion documents.

* Introduction of periodic contract review meetings.

* Compiling monthly Applications for Payment and submitting to clients in accordance with the provisions of the contract.

* Identify, value, and agree Variations and Extensions of Time at the earliest opportunity.

* Assess contract programme vs as built programme to minimise risk and liability, issuing delay notices as and when required under the terms of the contract. Establishing cause and effect.

* Commercial management and control of sub-contract accounts, including payment preparation, final account work and input into any disputes which may arise.

* Liaise and provide accurate data to support the finance department with cashflow forecasting.

* Comprehensive analysis of quotations and tenders to facilitate placing of official orders.

Desired experience and attributes:

* At least 2 years experience working as Senior QS and having a degree in Quantity Surveying or similar would be advantageous.

* A sound understanding of contract document preparation, contract management processes and procedures.

* Experience in assisting in the handling of claims and dispute resolution.

* Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.

* Proficient with all Microsoft Office products; particularly Word, Excel & Project.
