Job description
Be part of the Warehouse Team to receive, process and dispatch metal and plastics of varying shapes and sizes.
Typical tasks include (but not limited to) Goods Inspection, Cutting, Deburring, Packing, Picking.
Key Responsibilities
·All EH&S procedures are read, understood and carried out accordingly.
·Ensuring our clients rules and recommendations and all policies in relation to the warehouse and its activities are adhered to.
·Ensure the warehouse environment is safe at all times, any dangerous activity or hazards are reported immediately and supporting documents to include but not limited to, end of day check sheets, pre-use machine checks and forklift check sheets are correctly used and filled out.
·Carry out Lean practices.
·Ensure stock is stored in a safe and logical manner.
·All safety equipment and PPE are used as provided and according to H&S procedures.
·Use all Hardware and Software equipment and software programs provided to carry out your job function; this can include but not limited to IT equipment, email, software programs, calculators, scanning equipment, ID cards and so on.
·Demonstrate high standards of work practice with safety conscious behaviour to eliminate acts or omissions causing hazards for any other personnel or persons on site.
·Maintain a high level of productivity according to the work set out by your Team Leader, Supervisors and management.
Professional skills
·Metal experience with Aluminium, Titanium and Stainless in different commodities (tubes, bars, plates, sheets, coils, extrusions).
·Proven experience/knowledge in metals inspection.
·Check material for stencilling, marking, tagging and identification according to relevant specification requirements.
·Check description, size and specifications against paperwork referring to Operational control plan and QA manual procedures for final inspection.
·Inspect, test and measure materials in the goods in area.
·Measure materials with rulers, calipers, gauges and micrometres.
·Accept or reject items following the agreed inspection criteria.
·Quarantine all materials that fail to meet specifications.
·Report inspection results with those responsible for materials.
·Sideloader and Counterbalance forklift experience required. daily targets in your area are met and where possible exceeded.
·Strive to eliminate mistakes by carrying out the best quality standards.
·Maintain good communication between team members, your Team Leader, Supervisors and management.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
·Experience in Warehousing and/or Manufacturing environment.
·Metal experience with Aluminium, Titanium and Stainless in different commodities (tubes, bars, plates, sheets, coils, extrusions).
·Sideloader and Counterbalance forklift experience required.
Code of Conduct
·All Warehouse Personnel must carry out tasks set out by their Team Leader, Supervisors and management.
·A positive attitude encompassing company vision is required by all employees.
·It is required that all policies, procedures and warehouse documents relating to each and every task or activity are familiar to those who are carrying out those tasks; in the event that personnel are unfamiliar with equipment or are carrying out tasks without training for such equipment or tasks, must notify a Team Leader, Supervisor or management.
·Safety must be at the forefront of any activity and under no circumstance shall any Personnel expose themselves or any other personnel to a dangerous or hazardous environment by way of their own acts or omissions
