Quality Engineer - British Gypsum - East Leake, Loughborough

The British Gypsum manufacturing facility in East Leake is the biggest of its kind in the UK and one of the largest in the world. As the Quality Engineer you will be provided with the training, the tools, and the backing to continually improve our quality systems and ensure our products remain the first choice for our customers. You will work with the Shift Managers and Performance Managers to achieve full product compliance and monitor and improve product conformity.

Key Accountabilities:
Champions health and safety standards, behaviours, and improvements.
Orchestrates effective investigations into complaints including processing of associated documents on the complaints system, ensuring progression of investigations and their successful completion.
Shares and develops ideas for improvement within the Integrated Management System
Conducts thorough system and document reviews and subsequent change control
Plans, conducts, reports, and follows up Step 0 audits in all areas of the plant
Compiles and develops weekly and monthly reports for shift managers and senior leadership team
Hosts shift quality meetings and presents relevant information
Responsibility for update of Quality & Process Control Pillar books
Develops and maintains communication with operators to improve sample compliance
Quality KPI data collection and analysis to identify opportunities for improvements across the plant
Supplier non-conformance management What kind of person are we looking for?
Educated to degree level in relevant engineering, manufacturing, or business systems discipline or able to demonstrate extensive experience in manufacturing quality control and engineering.
Excellent communication skills at all levels within an organisation
Proven experience in driving continuous improvement
Experience in the practical application of TPQM techniques such as Six Sigma, statistical analysis, DMAIC, 8D, Kaizen, and other appropriate quality/process improvement tools.
A data driven individual experience in the use of Minitab, SPC and other similar data driven decision making tools.
Trained and experienced in internal audit processes - ISO9001 Lead Auditor.
