Mechanical Test Engineer

Yolk Recruitment are partnered with a global manufacturing company in the recruitment of a Mechanical Test Engineer to support test activities furthering the development of new mechanical products. This is an opportunity to join a well-established and growing company with a strong history of innovation and investment in a future proof sector.

This is a 50/50 hands on / hands off role, deciding what tests should be carried out, carrying them out and completing the related technical paperwork.

You'll benefit from flexible working and a relaxed, well organised working environment, joining a multi-disciplinary development team and taking projects from concept through to manufacturing and product release, with responsibilities for determining how products are tested, carrying out the test activities and the related reporting.

This is what you'll be doing

Supporting the Design department, developing test requirements for product development, confirming performance to required specifications.
Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to develop mechanical test activities
Carry out a variety of test activities including functional, usability and reliability
Creating design verification test plans and protocols
Support root cause analysis activities for problems identified in testing
Assemble, test and troubleshoot test systems
Work with colleagues in other departments to ensure the smooth transition of new products from design to manufacture This is the experience you'll need

Hands on experience and mechanical knowledge (HNC/equiivalent experience)
Understanding of pneumatics advantageous
Strong writtten communication skills
An understanding of risk management (FMEA, PFMEA, DFMEA) is advantageousAnd this is what you'll get in return
