H9 Technical are working exclusively with a client who looking for an Assistant Commercial Manager. This is a hybrid working role to be based in Teesside.
Responsibilities.
Support and help drive contract set up, negotiation and ongoing management for the construction, commissioning, and operations of lithium refinery development projects.
Monitor contract value, ensuring that the work scope is effectively delivered, and that scope is not expanded or changed unless the appropriate contract administration is followed and approved.
Monitor and report on commercial aspects of the contract and/or project flagging issues at the earliest opportunity to the Head of Commercial.
Establish a responsibility for environmental sustainability amongst commercial partners through localisation mandates and greater supplier co-innovations.
Maintain contract documentation in accordance with good business practices and audit requirements.
Support the development and implementation of contract management plans and participation in contract management and project management settings.
Actively seek out new opportunities including value creation and end-to-end margin improvement.
Instil and maintain collaboration between tier-1 and beyond order to maintain margins while managing risk.
Use high-impact analytics powered by AI (where appropriate) to elevate performance and establish a single-source-of-truth platform for value-based decision making.Skills & Qualifications
Degree level qualification (e.g. quantity surveying, commercial management, economics) or the equivalent relevant experience.
You will be digitally fluent, so that you can develop your craft from the data that (a) you generate and (b) is available to you.
By nature, someone who enjoys asking questions.
Measuring value creation and growing future enterprise value will come naturally to you!
Be a strong team player, taking pride working with a high-performing team capable of balancing risk management with value creation.
Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.

Experience of working in a project finance-backed development so as to understand the impact and importance this place on contract delivery.
Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply qualification or working towards chartership.Personal Qualities
