Discipline Manager - Instrumentation & Control

Stockton-on-Tees

Salary up to £78,000

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting an International Engineering Design consultancy business with their appointment of a Discipline Manager within their Instrumentation and Control team. As the Discipline Manager, you will responsible for the management of the Instrumentation and Control team, as well as acting as lead engineer on various projects.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

* Line management of the Instrumentation and Control team.

* Supervising and allocating work to engineers and designers, and ensuring compliance to IMS procedures.

* Responsible for the administration and technical integrity of the output of the department and its compliance with CDM regulations.

* Responsible for the development and integration of relevant software design systems & departmental procedures.

* Liaison with the Engineering Manager with regard to workload and resource planning.

* Responsible for departmental recruitment and maintaining staffing levels to suit resource demands of the company.

* Support the engineering manager with discipline estimates and technical proposals associated with client enquiries.

* Delivery of discipline deliverables to meet programmes and within sanctioned budget man hour estimates.

* Advising and guiding Engineers, Designers and Draughtspersons including apprentices and graduates.

* Working to quality plan and IMS procedures.

* Interface with Lead Discipline/Senior Discipline Engineer on KHI engineering progress data and reporting, ensuring that weekly updating of the KHI engineering progress sheets is completed in a timely manner.

* Checking and approving specifications, calculations and drawings as necessary and where necessary preparing engineering specifications and calculations and other documentation as required.

* Liaising with Clients on engineering contracts and design services.

Qualifications:

* Working at Principal level (or equivalent) within Instrumentation and Control.

* Chartered status.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

* Extensive experience in design & engineering development.

* Experience of team management.

* Thorough knowledge of Engineering Practices, Codes and Regulations related to the particular discipline.

* Knowledge of current HSE Legislation and Regulations.
