About Us
DLP Services are a leading Social Housing contractor established over 32 years. We are looking for a successful and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Salford, to work within the commercial team delivering all aspects of the commercial, and contractual elements of designated projects using schedule of rates and traditional planned works contracts.

The Quantity Surveyor / Estimator role
* Previous experience pricing roofing works including tiling, slating and flat roofs is desirable.
* Your main responsibility will be to take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management and control all aspects of the commercial/financial and contractual elements of the designated project and maximise the companys profitability.
* To protect the companies legal and contractual obligations under the contract and to proactively manage the control of all commercial issues. This is to include ensuring applications and valuations are completed in line with the contract terms and ensuring sub-contractors receive prompt payment and are procured in line with our contractual obligations and Commitments to Subcontractors.
* Make sure project risks are identified and managed through effective mitigation measures. Manage the implementation of designated projects. Ensure the project plan is maintained from inception to completion.
* Monitoring and communicating project financial performance and administration for the projects. Liaising with the Contract Managers and Finance Director to ensure accuracy.
* Keep project tracker up to date working with Project Coordinator to ensure information is accurate and up to date and available for financial planning and reporting.
* Assist in the estimating and tendering of new and upcoming projects/programmes.
Who we are looking for?
*
Quantity Surveying Degree (or demonstratable QBE)
*
Experience of working for a Principal Contractor.
*
Experience in pricing/estimating roofing (tiling, slating and flat roof works).
*
Experience in Social Housing Planned Works and Refurbishment Projects.
*
Demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills.
*
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
*
Experience with tendering subcontract works.
*
Experience of advanced Microsoft word, excel spreadsheet.
*
Ability to read drawings and construction design information.
*
Valuing interim applications.
*
Preparing and agreeing site variations.
*
Preparation of internal monthly cost reports / cost to complete forecasts.
*
Knowledge of measurement and valuation techniques.
*
Knowledge of contractual laws and construction legislation.
To be successful in the Quantity Surveyor role
*
You will be able to communicate with all stakeholders and build credible, lasting relationships, and have a good work ethic and the ability to work flexibly, independently and as part of team.
*
Travel (1-day per week) to Cumbria is required to cover contracts in this area. Additional travel may be required
