A Tier 1 Contractor are recruiting for a Senior Design Manager to join their Midlands business. The role will be site based, but you will be required to attend the office during tender and pre-construction stages of projects.

The Senior Design Manager will be responsible for auditing and assessing design information before and during construction and ensuring that the design is compliant to relevant legislation and technical requirements. Lead the design process to produce accurate information in line with the agreed specification and cost plan / estimate. You will manage and coordinate external consultants in their day-to-day duties related to design, coordination and technical aspects of production information and to ensure delivery within the constraints of time, quality, budget and technical requirements.

Experience and Qualifications required:

HND/Degree level in a construction/design related subject
Main Contracting background, with experience of managing large construction projects across multiple sectors
Ability to manage all elements of the technical design process for major projects
Strong technical knowledge in the construction of complex building types
Knowledge of current design, planning legislation and compliance issues
