Salary: £85 per day
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 3:30pm
Start: February, Maternity Cover for 9 months

They are seeking a Teaching Assistant for a full time position for maternity cover starting as soon as possible on a temp to perm basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals to take on a new role and suitable for any candidates currently teaching in mainstream to make the transition into something new.
About the school:
We are working in partnership with a Secondary SEN School supporting students experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Children in the setting are from ages 11 to 19 and the provision caters for students who have learning difficulties, complex needs, autism, impairments for vision and hearing and have physical disabilities. The students work in small groups of approximately 5 students at a time. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the students to reignite their love of learning.
The role:
We are looking for a nurturing Teaching Assistant to join their already established team supporting young people with additional needs. Due to the nature of the role the school is ideally looking for a Teaching Assistant OR individuals that have relevant experience working with pupils in a School, Youth Centre, Residential care setting or similar role. Each day will be different from the last therefore being adaptable is very important.
Key responsibilities:
- Building nurturing and meaningful relationships with pupils with SEND
- Experience and a good understanding of behaviour management and how to implement this into your practice
- Understand the different requirements of individual SEN and adapt accordingly
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents effectively.
- Additional skills such as Sport, Music and Art are a bonus
