We are recruiting for our a client a Heavy Plant & Underground Fitter, a key member of the underground quarry team. You will be working in an interesting and dynamic environment on specialist plant and equipment. In this role you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance and testing of the mechanical plant and equipment; ensuring that it operates in an efficient and safe state whilst minimising production downtime.
You will be responsible for organising and carrying out planned preventative maintenance, keeping the appropriate records of work done on each piece of equipment, whilst also being responsive to emergency breakdowns.
The role is Full Time 40 hours per week (7am - 4pm Mon - Friday - early finish Fridays)
Essential requirements and skills for the role:

* Experience in the maintenance of heavy equipment and hydraulics

* Minimum of 3 years experience as a Mechanical Fitter

* Good understanding of Health & Safety principles and issues

* Experience of planned preventative maintenance schedules

You should be:

* able prioritise work based on criticality

* able to work in a safe manner and high standards of housekeeping

* flexible, proactive, and have a hands-on approach

* self-motivated with the drive to complete a task as efficiently and safely as possible

* be a team player

Desirable requirements:

* C&G or NVQ qualified

* Experience in mining/minerals/tunnelling & extraction or in a similar industry

* Health & Safety qualifications

* First Aid qualifications

The package:
- Competitive package, £35 - £45k per annum (Salary dependent on experience of candidate and background)
