SF Recruitment are looking for a Senior Buyer to join there Nottingham based client. Reporting to the Head of Procurement the Senior Buyer will be responsible for supporting the procurement team ensuring all operational needs are met. This is a full-time permanent role working Monday to Friday paying up to £45,000. You will have the option to work from home 2x days per week.
The purpose of this role will be to ensure continuous supply of required goods, materials, components and services. You will be required to support the purchasing team where necessary ensuring purchase orders are raised in a timely manner, negotiating with suppliers, paying attention to price, quality and delivery.
Job Duties:
Ensure continuous supply of required goods, materials, components, and services and ensure any supply chain risks that may impact the operation are communicated to the Head of
Procurement.
Monitor market trends, and the supplier market to identify alternative sources of supply.
Deliver savings through adopting good practice procurement
Deliver briefings, updates, and reports as and when required
Support the Head of Procurement in the delivery of agreed strategic objectives in line with the Procurement Strategy and Roadmap.
Maintain a high standard of Procurement Practice employing academic rigour in sourcing projects where necessary.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers
Analyse suppliers spend data regularly to identify cost saving opportunities and efficiencies that contribute to the savings plan.
Build and maintain supplier relationships where necessary.
Undertake the necessary due diligence on prospective vendors/subcontractors and manage the on-boarding process ensuring adherence to Procurement Policies and Procedures
Undertake financial analysis on all new and business critical suppliers/subcontractors
Support the team in annual stock takes
Essential
Proven experience as a Buyer/Senior Buyer
Commercially minded
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Analytical thinker
Ability to develop and maintain relationships
Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
A strong understanding of procurement practices and processes
Suitable candidates will have a strong Procurement background with experience of managing suppliers and can demonstrate where and how they have reduced costs. You must have a strong understanding of procurement practices and processes with a hands on approach. You will need outstanding communication skills with a positive mindset. This is a key role for the business and they are looking for somebody who is reliable, flexible and can remain calm under pressure.
