My Client is looking for Mechanical Fitters to work as a Site Team Member to provide a combination of installation, repairs, and servicing of various types of industrial Doors, including all associated hardware and components.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

Install, service and maintain a wide range of doors, which can be NPSA (CPNI) rated. The range includes Sliding-folding, bi fold doors, side hinged doors and fire doors. All doors can be either mechanical or electrically operated. We also install and maintain other manufacturers doors.
Provide an innovative and technically aware approach to problem solving.
Comply with all Health & Safety requirements. All Engineers will be required to have CSCS Cards as a minimum, to ensure the project is completed within the allocate time and to the high standards required.
Ability of reading manufacturing or electrical drawings would also be essential.
Ensure that all HSE and company paperwork is completed and returned to the office after the project has been completed.
Ensure appropriate audits and checks are carried out on equipment in line with relevant standards.
Receive and put into action all written and verbal instructions as required.

This is a National Role, so you will be working away from home Monday to Friday most weeks, occasionally this might include a weekend or weekend travel. (Overtime rates will be applicable).

This role is not for someone with a young family and needs to be discussed with any partner.

There is no dedicated vehicle with this position, so the candidate must live within a commutable distance from the depot in Preston, Lancashire. Current Driving licence is a must.

Most of the work is with the Ministry of Defence (MOD), so all fitters must be able to obtain Security Clearance.

This will include the following: (All costs will be paid by the company)

DBS
References for the past 3 Years employment (Cannot have any gaps)
Proof of the last 5 Years residency within the UK
Criminal Record check.
UK Passport
UK Driving Licence
Medical, including Drugs and Alcohol Testing*

*Random D & A tests are conducted both by the company and our customers, any positive reading would result in instinct dismissal.

Obtaining this is an essential part of passing the 3 months' probation period.
