Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Technician to join their team. You will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles to ensure they meet quality standards. You will work with all makes and models, performing routine maintenance tasks as well as addressing more complex mechanical and electrical issues
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough inspections of second-hand vehicles to identify any issues or potential future problems.
2. Diagnose problems using diagnostic tools, computer software, and manual techniques.
3. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, changing tyres and brake inspections.
4. Repair or replace faulty components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
5. Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper functionality.
6. Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance/repairs.
7. Provide estimates for repair/parts costs and communicate effectively regarding recommended repairs.
8. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as an automotive mechanic, preferably specializing in second hand vehicles.
2. Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
3. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
4. Ability to interpret technical manuals and repair instructions.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Strong communication skills.
7. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
8. Certification from a recognised training program or equivalent experience.
Experience: 5 years +
Qualifications: Level 2-3
Wage: Competitive wage dependent on experience
