Full Description

The applicant will have some customs knowledge across Sea, Air and road shipments. Liaising with customers, Customs authorities and handling import Customs clearances from start to finish to support the successful forwarding of the goods. This is an exciting opportunity within an established company wanting to grow the import portfolio further.

Traing will include the following - Duties and Responsibilities:

· Handling import clearances for all modes of transport, from start to finish.

· Proactive and efficient communication to customers, vendors and government bodies.

· Ensuring internal systems are maintained and updated. Run Daily ETA and ETD checks with customer updates as and when necessary.

· Ensure customs compliance is Always maintained.

· Delivering high levels of customer service at all times whilst having a good understanding of commercial awareness.

· Job cost approval and invoice submission

Key Skills

· Good Level of understanding of customs entry requirement including DEFRA / Port Health / Forestry and other associated authorities.

· Strong customer service skills

· Excellent and proactive communication skills written and verbal

· Attention to detail

· Self-Motivated and Enthusiastic mentality

· Ability to work to deadlines and meet the demands of the role

· Ability to multi-task in a busy office environment, demonstrating ownership with a calm and flexible approach.

Experience

· Experience in the freight forwarding industry (Desirable)
