A role for a dynamic negotiator with buying experience in and a key understanding of the meat industry.

Offering over 5,000 products across fresh, prepped, speciality, artisan, chilled and frozen categories, their teams are passionate about food. Innovative thinking through the ever changing foodie landscape has contributed vastly to their reputation for placing lifelong customer relationships at the heart of everything they do.
As a result of business expansion, we are now seeking an experienced meat buyer who will have responsibility for the category, managing suppliers, sourcing, negotiating and influencing key stakeholders to deliver on the buying strategy.
Key objectives;
* Sourcing & selection
* Origin quality
* Cost effective procurement
* Inventory management
* Build strong partnerships, managing relationships with key suppliers
Key duties;
* Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, pricing and quality
* Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing
* Play a proactive role to drive efficiencies & high standards of customer service
* Work collaboratively with the wider team
* Develop departmental KPIs
Key requirements;
* Breadth & depth of purchasing and negotiation experience in the meat sector
* Influencing capabilities
* Project management, identifying market demands/customer preferences
* Experience in a dynamic environment
* Ability to build and maintain supplier relationships and deliver results
