Our client is a long-established British company supplying specialist security products for various industries worldwide.

They are currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the improvement of quality performance within their supply chain.

Duties will include

* Strategically lead supplier development to improve supplier process capabilities to deliver quality, on time parts/products right first time every time. Build longterm supplier relationships.

* Own and maintain supplier audit system for the critical and key suppliers. Conduct supplier audits

* Carry out approval of suppliers part and product manufacturing processes as well as validate any secondary qualification of outsourced processes.

* Qualify new suppliers and approve their processes and procedures in line with the specific product part or service being procured. Carry out qualification at the supplier of tooling and production parts using qualification principles such as the FAIR process.

* Own the initial investigation and FA process in evaluating and documenting observed quality issues as well as identifying possible solutions that can then be reviewed with the relevant design authority.

Requirements

* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

* Similar experience in an engineering manufacturing environment

* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally

* Understanding of quality process' and improvement techniques
