What you need to know about the role
High Voltage team support essential High Voltage and other Electrical infrastructure for our manufacturing sites. Scope of work includes High Voltage switchgear, protection, transformers and cables, as well as other low voltage supply equipment & PLCs.
Working as a High Voltage Team Leader you will be responsible for supervising British Steel craft and contractor resource to ensure safe and effective maintenance of equipment. Additionally, you will be required to use your High Voltage Senior Authorised Person skills to support customer departments and assist with training of new personnel.
Reporting to the High Voltage Engineers for the area and working alongside other Team Leaders you will provide front line supervision, technical advice, planning, reporting and will be expected to lead and motivate the team to achieve the desired plan.
You will maintain and where possible raise the benchmark for engineering standards in the area and will lead and develop the craft team to ensure a high standard of maintenance is achieved in a safe efficient manner. You will also be expected to liaise with the High Voltage Engineers and customers in order to improve maintenance strategy.

What we need to know about you
This role requires you to be qualified in Electrical Engineering (you must be qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in a relevant electrical trade or have served a recognised apprenticeship). Ideally you will be educated to HNC level or equivalent or be an experienced time served craftsperson with relevant qualifications and a proven track record including, supervision and management of electrical engineering teams.
You are required to be technically proficient with good PC skills. You will have the ability to deliver efficient maintenance, working in conjunction with customers, directing and supervising British Steel personnel and relevant contractors to deliver safe, efficient and timely work execution.
A willingness for developing your own High Voltage skills from self study, working with colleagues and formal training.
A valid UK driving license is key to this role due to size of the site being supported, and occasional need to travel to other sites in North Lincolnshire.
