Our clients, based in Portsmouth have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join their growing team. There is opportunity for growth within this role. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to join our clients subcontract CNC machine shop.
As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and precision. Your primary responsibility will be to perform inspections and tests on machined parts and components to verify conformance with specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts and components to verify conformance with specifications, blueprints, and quality standards.
Utilise precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to perform accurate measurements.
Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to understand the required quality criteria for each component.
Identify and report any non-conformances, deviations, or defects in products, processes, or materials to the appropriate personnel.
Collaborate closely with CNC machine operators, programmers, and production teams to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the manufacturing process.
Perform in-process inspections to monitor and verify the quality of ongoing machining operations.
Maintain accurate documentation and records of inspection results, including detailed reports and measurement data.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions to address quality issues and continuously improve processes.
Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and quality assurance programs.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within an engineering or manufacturing environment
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs.
Solid understanding of quality control principles, statistical process control (SPC), and inspection techniques.
Ability to identify and interpret non-conformances, deviations, and defects accurately
