My client is seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team in Stockport. This role will focus on providing specialised gas engineering services to educational institutions and local authorities within the area. As a dedicated Commercial Gas Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of gas systems in these critical public facilities.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repair of commercial gas appliances and heating systems in educational institutions and local authority buildings.
* Conduct thorough gas safety inspections and compliance checks in line with current regulations and standards.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot gas-related issues promptly, proposing appropriate solutions and conducting repairs as required.
* Collaborate with site managers and facility teams to plan and execute maintenance schedules, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
* Provide expert advice and recommendations on gas system upgrades, replacements, and energy efficiency improvements.
* Maintain accurate records of works carried out, inspection reports, and gas certification records.
* Uphold the highest standards of health and safety, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
Requirements:
* Gas Safe registered with relevant commercial qualifications (CCN1, COCN1, CIGA1, etc.).
* Extensive experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer, preferably working in educational and local authority settings.
* Up-to-date knowledge of current gas safety regulations and standards, including relevant industry codes of practice.
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex gas-related issues effectively.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills, capable of interacting with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
* Proactive and organized approach to work, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various sites within the Stockport area.
