Position Available: Teaching Assistant for 1-2-1 Support
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the development of a Year Two student with speech and language difficulties. Your primary responsibilities will include:
1-2-1 Support: Provide tailored support and guidance to a specific child, helping them improve their speech and language skills through engaging activities and one-on-one interactions.
Learning Support: Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the individual needs of the student, ensuring they have the best chance of success.
Progress Monitoring: Keep detailed records of the child's progress and communicate regularly with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and parents to provide updates on their development.
Emotional Support: Foster a caring and supportive environment, ensuring the child feels safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
Inclusive Classroom: Promote inclusivity within the classroom, helping to create an atmosphere where every child feels welcome and can thrive.Qualities we are looking for:
Empathy: A deep understanding of the challenges faced by children with speech and language difficulties and a compassionate approach to their support.
Patience: The ability to provide patient, individualised guidance to help the child progress at their own pace.
Communication: Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with the class teacher, SENCO, parents, and other staff members.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and a willingness to explore various teaching strategies and techniques.
Team Player: A collaborative spirit, working seamlessly with the teaching team to provide the best learning environment for all students.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications in education or child development is a plus.What else can we offer?
