There is no Buy it Now or part-exchange. Here is a brief excerpt taken from the auction description; The vendor is currently rationalising his classic car collection and is only saying farewell to this fine old Lagonda because it currently makes sense to do so.He has driven it only sparingly since he bought it but this has not stopped him parting with sizeable wads of money in getting the best possible people to replace the various missing parts, and fettle and tweak it back into a mechanically very well sorted example of the breed. Many of the parts were sourced and supplied through the impeccable auspices of The Lagonda Club.A new battery and starter motor were purchased and fitted. The new exhaust system came from expert stainless-steel pipe benders Hayward and Scott. Over £6,500 went the way of Bishopgray, acknowledged doyens of pre-war Lagonda whisperers. They sourced one missing magneto, rebuilt another, and made sure that they and the stripped and rebuilt carbs were perfectly set-up and tuned. They also rebuilt the centre tube, and sourced and fitted new advance, retard and hand-throttle controls.Their inspection of the remarkably fresh-looking braking system led them to conclude that the car must have done virtually no miles whatsoever since it was restored. When this latest work was done the vendor drained and replaced all fluids and checked the compression - which was happily discovered to be excellent. Once complete and put back together, the car was found to start, run, and stop very well indeed, although it has covered minimal mileage in recent years so a period of gentle use and recommissioning as required may be advisable before any long journeys are undertaken. This lot is available for viewing/inspection.
