Our client, a pioneer in Cloud, Connectivity, Unified Communications, and Cyber Security, are looking for a Data Centre Technician to join their team. You will be responsible for providing customer support to our large and diverse client base ensuring Service Levels are maintained and the ticketing system is fully up to date.

Key responsibilities for this position:
* Deploy server, network, and storage hardware, including associated cabling/patching.
* Execute cabling/patching tasks for both copper and fiber, catering to diverse client requirements.
* Manage the decommissioning of hardware, ensuring proper preparation for shipping, and collaborate with third-party couriers for seamless coordination.
* Perform various remote hands duties within Data Centres, encompassing power cycling equipment, replacing faulty hardware components, re-seating network cards, and conducting cabling tests.
* Conduct routine checks for network activity, firewall status, and error displays using LED alerts or system monitoring tools.
* Conduct audits of client cabling and hardware, producing comprehensive supporting documentation.
* Collaborate closely with internal and external client teams to diagnose and resolve incidents across various technologies.
* Serve as an access host for visitors to client Data Centres.
* Adhere to ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 20000 & ITIL standards and best practices.
* Manage and process Access, Remote Hands, and delivery tickets for co-location clients and internal works.
* Acquire a basic understanding of support functions within the Data Centre with the goal of progressing into other roles within the Data Centre and the broader business.
* Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call Rota, providing support for client access at Data Centres, Client Migrations, Smart Hands Requests, Installation works for Managed Hosted clients, Scheduled maintenances/upgrades for Managed Hosting and Infrastructure upgrades, Circuit Down/Faults, and any other out-of-hours works as required internally or by clients.
Skills and qualifications required:
* Possession of a full UK Driving License and a personal car is essential for this position.
* Meet SC and BPSS security clearance vetting and approval requirements.
* Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
* Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and making informed decisions.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Logical approach to troubleshooting, problem-solving, and fault diagnosis.
* Ability to take ownership of issues and follow through to resolution.
