This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The NEC Classic Motor Show Sale 2023 - Cars on Saturday the 11th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. , Based in Norwich, the Graham Dacre Charitable Foundation states that its aims are 'To support the development of young people in Norwich and Norfolk, to actively promote the Christian faith and to undertake other charitable activities'. We are pleased to have been asked to help with the sale of this rather special Lancer Evo as it's now surplus to their requirements.Offered here is a prototype EVO X (10) that has a very interesting history and played an integral part in a 'raising speed awareness' program instigated by the Norfolk Constabulary and very ably supported by the Foundation. Alongside a Porsche GT4, the EVO took part in their 'Young Driver Engagement Program' and was never used on patrol, but purely as a display car at schools and events. Resplendent in its police livery (a full wrap), it helped to raise speed awareness amongst young drivers and, we understand, had a very positive effect with a tangible reduction in the number of serious accidents involving younger drivers. It was selected by the Trust on the advice of a very senior policemen as the best visual machine of the day to put the message across. At the time, probably one of the most outrageous saloons on the market was the Mitsubishi EVO X GSR-FQ400, but a call into the Mitsubishi Headquarters to supply one was greeted with raised eyebrows because their allocation was completely sold out. However, keen to be a part of such a worthwhile scheme, a prototype/type approval EVO X GSR-FQ360 had languished in storage and the decision was made to upgrade it to RFQ400-spec with a body kit and the mechanical parts required. The result is an EVO X GSR-FQ400 in all but name that has covered just 3,550 miles. Now unwrapped and sparkling in its original P26 Orient Red, it had a 12,000 mile service with Mitsubishi in January this year and has only covered a nominal 20 miles since.Blistering performance or sedate motoring, this EVO X has it covered and with a very appropriate number plate.
