An SEN school in Manchester is looking for a full-time teaching assistant to work with students in KS3 and KS4 with challenging behaviour. The school is committed to providing high quality support and a nurturing environment for the children they work with, and within this position you will work with other staff to maintain this.
Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviour and SEN based on their individual learning needs and goals
Assist the class teacher and other members of support staff to deliver structured lessons
Implement behaviour management strategies and techniques in line with Team Teach principles to support students manage emotion and behaviour effectively
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected
For this role you should
Have previous experience working with learners with additional needs in an educational setting
Team Teach certification or experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy and resilience
Full-time availability
