So, Why Birchwood?
The year was 1967 and my grandfather ‘Pops’ had taken his first steps into the world of cars, starting exactly where anyone would in Cardiff at the time, City Road.

Beginning his journey as a mechanic and working his way through the ranks he became owner of his own showroom located in the heart of the road of a thousand cars. Called ‘General Motors’ he seemed to think using the name of a popular American manufacturer at the time might generate some attention, and it certainly did.

He would work tirelessly day and night trying his upmost to be the best, not the biggest, not the cheapest, but the best. It was his passion, and everyone who knew him could agree on one thing, he achieved his goal. My journey began in much of the same way, I started as a Saturday boy cleaning cars and now I own Birchwood Motors, and like Pops, I don’t desire to be the biggest, I don’t desire to be the cheapest, but I DO desire to be the best.
