Mechanical Design Engineer Corby, Northamptonshire - £35,000 to £50,000 DOE - Plus benefits

Melbreck technical are working with a fantastic SME, based in Corby, Northamptonshire, who specialise in the design and manufacture of special purpose machinery and equipment.

Out of their office near Corby, they design revolutionary automated equipment that is used in a multitude of industries.

Due to a very successful 2023 they are now expanding their technical capability and as such are looking to hire a design engineer to join them ASAP.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Overview:

Reporting to the Design manager you will be utilising you 3D design skills to design full turnkey work packages and ancillary equipment for a variety of applications.

You will be liaising directly with clients and project managers to ensure the smooth delivery of projects, with occasional site visits needed at the design phase to ensure the integration phase of the project runs smoothly.

Almost all of the work you will be carrying out will be bespoke design, so the role is very challenging and rewarding, as you will be able to put your knowledge and skills to good use.

Mechanical Design Engineer Candidate Requirements:

Degree in a mechanically orientated subject preferred, however HND/HNC or Apprenticeship holders would still be considered.

3D design experience is a must SolidWorks and Inventor preferred, but other package experience would also be considered.

A good level of understanding for geometric design and tolerancing when designing.

Experience of designing sheet metal, ideally stainless steel, parts.

Good all round communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team is essential.
