THE COMPANY

My client is a privately owned business with over 85 years of manufacturing expertise in precision engineered products. They are a niche supplier of complex aero-engine components and assemblies, and their products are manufactured from high nickel content super alloys and other materials such as titanium, stainless steel, and aluminium. Their employees are the key to their success, and they are committed to the development, training and support of our workforce and are seeking skilled CNC machinists to join our team.

THE JOB

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our CNC machines to provide high-quality parts and components. (Turning, milling, or boring).

Working hours: Initially starting on days shifts 37 hours per week and moving to 2 weekly rotating day shift of 36 hours per week following an initial period of training.

Weeks 1 & 2 are Monday to Wednesday is 7:00am 7:30pm.

Weeks 3 & 4 are Wednesday to Friday is 7:00am 7:30pm.

The pay rate is £15.43 per hour, overtime payable after 36 hours. (Plus shift allowance of £80.48 per week whilst on rotating day shift).

Brief outline of responsibilities include:

1. Setting and operating CNC machinery.

2. Operating manual machining centres if applicable.

3. Maintaining an exemplary level of housekeeping.

4. Keeping waste to a minimum.

5. Reading/understanding and correctly interpreting Engineering Drawings.

6. Changing tool inserts and re-setting/altering offsets to achieve drawing specifications and tolerances.

7. Having high levels of concentration and focus to achieve production targets and scheduled customer deadlines.

8. Following written works instructions, safe working practices and always maintaining a safe and tidy work area.

9. Monitoring your own quality and productivity with continuous improvement mind set.

10. Helping and being proactive for the continual improvement of processes.

Essential Competencies:

1. Proven experience as a CNC Machinist.

2. Knowledge of setting CNC machines.

3. Strong attention to detail and precision in work.

4. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

5. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.

6. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

THE OFFER

The client offers the CNC Machinists a basic salary of £29,000, twenty-five days holiday (plus Bank Holidays), free car parking, free hot beverages, length of service payments, social club, optional health cash plan, sick pay scheme up to 18 weeks full pay after qualifying periods, enhanced paternity, maternity, bereavement, and compassionate leave.
