This is an exciting opportunity to lead on Community Fundraising at Simon on the Streets: An independent charity offering emotional and practical support for homeless and vulnerable people across Leeds and Bradford for over 20 years.

The last few years have been challenging for most of us. But imagine facing all we have been through, homeless and with no support network or place to turn.
Securing the income necessary to help us provide hope for those without a voice and support those facing homelessness across West Yorkshire has never been more important.
We are recruiting for the role of Community Fundraiser - a new role for us as an organisation and with bags of scope. This opportunity comes at a great point in our journey.

Main Responsibilities of our Community Fundraiser

The successful and passionate Community Fundraiser will join our small but hugely dedicated and ambitious team and will take our income generation up a gear. We are a well-known and well-loved organisation and are looking for someone with the passion and motivation needed to transform our fundraising team and build on the incoming opportunities and relationships with supporters and donors.

Working with the Senior Fundraiser to initiate, build and manage relationships with community supporters to maximise and sustain income, providing the highest standards of donor care service throughout.

To process incoming enquiries from community supporters and groups effectively and efficiently, whilst maintaining excellent levels of donor stewardship.

Increase income generated from individual giving fundraising activities to deliver agreed targets.

To deliver specific community fundraising products, looking for longer term marketable activities.

To research, approach and source new support from community groups (including schools, faith groups, clubs, pubs, groups, and individuals).

Develop and deliver compelling fundraising activities for these groups to participate in and follow up approaches on the phone and face to face to maximise income.

Skills & Experience of our Community Fundraiser

Demonstrable experience and success in a fundraising role
Experience of working in the charity sector
A strategic thinker able to create opportunities for engagement and income generation
Demonstrable experience in creating and nurturing profitable and successful relationships
Interest in and commitment to homelessness and empathy towards the issues and challenges facing Homeless and Vulnerable people
Motivated to help effect change for others
Credible candidates will bring bags of passion and drive; an engaging and inspiring demeanor that lends to relationship development and growth; the ability to captivate an audience with story and case study telling; and a commitment to drive and live the vision and values of the organisation
