Vetro Education are seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across Primary schools in Merthyr. The schools support learners in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and as a result, Vetro Education are looking for Teaching Assistants in or around Merthyr who are experienced in these roles

As a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, Vetro Education will allow you to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.

Overview:
Title: Teaching Assistant
Pay: £75.90 per day minimum
Location: Merthyr
Hours: Ad Hoc, Short Term and Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Teaching Assistant

Supporting and supervising educational games, sports and craft activities
Helping children with their reading
Preparing the classroom for a lesson
Working with pupils in small groups/ and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
Assist pupils at break time with their lunch
Engage pupils in the classroom and out-of-classroom activities
Work in accordance to the school's behaviour management policies
The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Teaching Assistant

At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
References covering the last two years (no gaps)
Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
