Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting secondary school students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Do you have a desire to make a positive impact on the educational journey of young learners with ASD? We are seeking a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant (Secondary) to join our team at GSL Education in North Shields, starting immediately.

Key Responsibilities: As an ASD Teaching Assistant (Secondary), your responsibilities will include:

Providing one-to-one or small group support to secondary school students with ASD to help them access the curriculum.
Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored strategies to support students with ASD.
Collaborating with classroom teachers to adapt and differentiate lessons to accommodate the needs of students with ASD.
Creating a structured and supportive classroom environment where students with ASD can thrive academically and socially.
Requirements: To excel in this role, you should have:

Proactivity, resilience, kindness and empathy
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with us)
A full checkable work history
Proven experience working with secondary school students with ASD.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy and patience when working with students with ASD.
A commitment to helping these students achieve their full potential.
