Location: Telford

Hours: 37.5hrs per week

Salary: up to circa £40k per annum depending on experience + Bonus

Package: 25 days annual leave + Stats

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer, looking to join one of the most prestigious businesses in the local area. They are looking for an ambitious individual to join their existing team, taking responsibility for the indirect commodities (service contracts, facilities, machinery, consumables) to support a large manufacturing plant.

The Buyer will be getting involved in:

* Sourcing prospective suppliers

* Negotiating all T&Cs of supply

* Leading the tender process for supplier / contract selection

* Effectively managing supplier service / lease contracts

* Supplier audits and supplier development

* Capital expenditure projects

* Controlling expenditure costs and developing cost-down opportunities

* Managing and mitigating supplier risk

* Ensure due diligence and compliance across the supply base

Skills and experience:

* Previous experience in a Buyer / Procurement / Purchasing role within a manufacturing environment will be ESSENTIAL

* CIPS qualifications (or equivalent) would be advantageous but not essential

* Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills

* Previous experience in managing indirect commodities i.e service contracts, consignment stock and other building services contracts
