As a Powertrain Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the technical feature development for advanced systems while ensuring compliance with international legislative requirements. Your responsibilities will include planning, executing, and evaluating system performance measurements across various testing environments, managing calibration builds, defining system performance targets, and supporting cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of calibration guidelines and procedures, provide technical expertise during customer meetings, and deliver exceptional customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform system performance measurements and evaluations using various testing methods
* Manage calibration builds for internal testing, evaluation, and customer release
* Set performance targets for the system and ensure compliance
* Support Team Leader or Manager in customer interactions and cross-functional collaboration
* Represent the calibration function as a key input into System Integration
* Characterize existing and new products, contribute to machine learning development, and assist in requirements definition and implementation
* Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior stakeholders
* Collaborate with the software team to develop control strategies and design efficient solutions
* Support hazard analysis, FMEA, and fault tree analysis
* Develop calibration guidelines for internal and customer use
* Establish rigorous and robust calibration and sign-off procedures
* Provide technical support during customer meetings and offer on-site/off-site customer assistance
Experience & Qualifications:
Mandatory:
* Minimum degree-level education in Automotive, Mechanical, Software Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related field
Desirable:
* In-depth appreciation or minimum 5 years' experience in calibration development within a powertrain development environment (seniority-dependent)
* Knowledge of structured quality disciplines such as Six Sigma
* Solid understanding of fuel injection equipment and fluid dynamics
* Strong background in software and/or control development
* Familiarity with hydraulic systems
