We are looking for an experienced EHS Manager to work for our client based out of Halifax, West Yorkshire. More information about the company will be available and provided upon application.
THE ROLE:
Reporting to the senior leadership team, this role requires an experienced EHS professional from a heavy manufacturing background who can engage with all levels of the business to introduce fresh ideas and implement them to improve the processes, systems and culture.
THE DUTIES:
* Ensure legal compliance for health and safety in the workplace by conducting regular audits and inspections to make sure the highest standards are consistently maintained.
* Lead training with new and existing members of staff whilst identifying and assisting in any staff development opportunities.
* Use continuous improvement techniques to improve and sustain the health, safety & environmental performance and management system.
* Ensure incident investigations are conducted in a timely manner, including root cause analysis and corrective action is undertaken.
* Assist and support in the creation, implementation and review of Risk Assessments, safe working procedures and method statements.
* Delivery of the company Health and Safety strategy and initiates for the site.
* Keep up to date and informed of all legislation including any changes.
* Review all existing company Health & Safety documentation and update accordingly in line with our statutory obligations including CDM Regulations.
* Ensure that all "assessments" as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals.
* Visit each Project site and conduct regular health and safety inspection/audits and prepare detailed H&S audit reports.
* Review of all RAMS and COSHH assessments and update where necessary.
* Carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms.
* Coordinate and lead all H&S Training.
* Assist Pre-Construction Team with Health & Safety Questionnaires.
* To ensure that Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to including the requirements of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company.
THE SHIFT PATTERN:
Monday to Friday 08.30 17.00
THE RATE OF PAY:
£50 - £55K per year dependent on experience.
ABOUT YOU
To excel in this role, you should ideally have:
* Demonstrable experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
* Experience managing a site within HSE.
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
* Ability to influence at all levels of organisation.
* Proven experience in driving changes and improvements.
* Positive, friendly, driven attitude, with an outgoing change agent.
