Are you an experienced and skilled Occupational Therapist?

Are you seeking a new and exciting opportunity to showcase your skillset and passion?

They are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to work as part of the team . This post will combine clinical assessment and intervention roles: you will work directly with individual children or groups to deliver therapy programmes, complete OT assessments of young peoples functional skills, report on individuals progress, provide support with resources for individuals and contribute to the development of the Sensory Environment. You will receive regular supervision and be eligible for training.

You will be an enthusiastic and dynamic therapist, working as part of a team to deliver Occupational Therapy services in accordance with the Codes of Practice of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy. It is essential that the successful candidate has an interest in developing young peoples functional skills and meeting sensory needs and have worked with children previously, preferably with children with SEND. Postgraduate training in Sensory Integration is ideal but not essential.

A successful candidate will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post. Basic IT skills and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a busy team are essential for all aspects of this post.

Experience working with ASD/sensory integration/Experience in CAMHS is preferable.

Your responsibilities

Carry out occupational therapy assessments in clinic, homes and schools. Using standardised and non-standardised assessment tools.

Plan and carry out one-to-one Occupational Therapy interventions.

Plan and facilitate group activities/interventions.

Contribute to developing and reviewing aspects of the OT clinical programme, and maintain appropriate levels of purposeful and therapeutic activity in consultation with the team.

Promote, encourage and assist service users to engage and participate in the occupation.

To be aware of individual service users' needs through communication with MDT.

To observe general behaviour, ability and response of service users to activities and communicate these observations to other members of the multidisciplinary team as appropriate.

Report relevant aspects of service user's performance, behaviour and treatment outcomes, and any concerns to the Occupational Therapists.

Provide oral and written reports about service users as required

Supervision of band 5 OTs or OTAs.

To be successful in this role, you'll need

* · To be a qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration

* · Experience as an OT within a hospital or care setting or relevant practice in a similar care setting.

* · Understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy

* · Range of practical skills which are relevant to the post (cooking, baking, craftwork, art, fitness, sports, drama, education)

* · Ability to work with individuals/groups within a supportive environment.

* · Ability to present information and practical activity to groups and within individual sessions

* · Able to use initiative within the area of delegated responsibility.

* · Ability to carry out a range of administration tasks as required.

* · Must have adequate literacy and numeracy skills for writing clinical reports and completing administration tasks for the service.

* · Ability to follow a structured work timetable and tasks as delegated.

Where you will be working

You will be working at Bursting with Potential, which is a small independent therapy service with good facilities, covering the Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire areas.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, intervention and support for children and young people 0-25 with SEND and their families.

At times our clients may be experiencing mental health difficulties or behaviours that challenge. The role includes travelling to community appointments and schools and requires a driver with use of a car
